Stubby Screwdriver Handle 6mm Shank

Stubby Screwdriver Handle 6mm Shank

Description

I needed to replace a screwdriver handle that was way too long and bulky. I designed this handle so that the driver bit can be embedded inside the handle using clear resin (or epoxy). The ring is used to support the driver bit while the resin (or epoxy) is setting and it also provides a nice external surface. If using a filament printer, print with about 50% infill for high strength, whilst for a resin printer use the standard 100% infill. Supports are not required. To assemble the handle to the blade: 1 Trial fit the blade and support inside the handle. Ensure that the support is fitted snugly on the blade and away from the handle. Make adjustments as required 2 Wear protective gloves! 3 Pour a small amount of clear resin (or epoxy) into the handle. 4 Place the blade into the handle. 5 Fill up the remainder of the handle with clear resin (or epoxy) to about 3-4mm from the top. 6 Slide the support down the blade and into the handle. Ensure that the top of the support is level with the handle. 7 Wipe up excess resin (or epoxy). 8 Set the resin using UV (or wait until the epoxy has cured). Anycubic resin should set in about 6-8 minutes in the curing station. The screwdriver handle was modelled in ViaCAD, with no post-processing.
