Dust filter for Synology DS920+

Dust filter for Synology DS920+

Description

A simple dust cover for the front disk port and side vents of the Synology DS920+ NAS. You will also need: ------------------------- - Nylon tights to cut filter material from. - A hot glue gun for assembly. Front cover --------------- Cut a part of the leg from the nylon tights and slip it over the "part 2" section of the front cover, hot glue it together with "part 1", cut away any excess fabric and then hot glue together with part 3. Now you can just pop it in place in front of the hard drives. Note: If you are using the number keys on your disk, then the "part 2 X" will be in the way. So instead thread the nylon tights over part 1, hot glue with part 3 and cut away excess fabric and you don't have to print part 2. Side cover -------------- You will need to print two copies of the side covers. Cut a part of the leg from the nylon tights and slip it over the front frame of the side cover and hot glue it together with the back part of the side cover, then cut away any excess fabric. The side covers has guide pins that will position the cover nicely (goes in to the S and Y of the Synology text) over the vents at the sides but it will not hold it in place very well so you will probably need to put some hot glue on the corners of the printed cover to hold it in place. Notes -------- I printed the cover on the picture using low resolution in flashprint, but for nicer finish you can use higher resolution. Feel free to modify and improve this dust cover in any way you like, it is released under the BSD license so do whatever you like.
