Strong case remix, low-clutter, Ender 3 for (SKR 1.3 + Raspberry Pi 3/4)
Description
The inspiration behind this case came mostly from the remix created by drewzh. Part of my thought process was to create a core from scratch using the remix as an idea factory. I really wanted to improve my CAD skills and this was a great challenge. What I found lacking in some of the cases was the additional depth so cables weren't jammed into the case and restricting airflow. Routing with this remix is a breeze! I have printed out 4 or so different case designs and although some of them were nice, I wanted something a bit more rigid that completely fit into the back side of my Ender 3. Some of the modifications include: * tighter fit with support on the mid rail and side rails. * more screws on the top lids * firm attachment between the case halves. * slightly different layout of the LM2596's * larger bosses for the PI and SKR standoffs * large hole for the SKR USB connection and SD card * a hole that lines up with the mid rail slot for routing cables underneath Although my first print wasn't perfect, I have had it installed for a few months now with no issues. It's very sturdy and with proper component placement, wire routing can be accomplished a number of ways. What did I learn? I have some great cad models and designs to accommodate anything I would want to build for an Ender including many attachments for use on the rails. Note: you will need to put some feet on your ender to lift it up a bit. Remember that side benefit I mentioned. Well I made a foot design too and attached some stiff rubber Audio half dome feet. All vibration is totally isolated so that's a win to me. If you are interested in the .STEP files, let me know, I am happy to share them.
