Toilet Cistern Bolt and Nut

Toilet Cistern Bolt and Nut

Description

During the initial weeks of Lock Down in South Africa, all hardware stores were closed. Of course this is when my toilet cistern started leaking and I found that the bolt had ruste away. With no shop to buy from I set out solving the problem with my 3D printer. The first bolt was printed standing upright, made sense because it required no support. Problem printing like this is that it cannot be tightened much before it snaps off. I recommend printing the bolt laying down and using support. This was installed in April 2020 and as soon as the hardware stores reopened for business I bough stainless nuts and bolts to replace the PLA unit. I have since lost track of where I have placed the stainless ones, the PLA is still installed and happy for now.
