Resistor - Diode - Fuse Tester
Description
This is a remix of the Resistor Tester Stand by Elproducts. He has an excellent video that covers the design, print and assembly of his tester stand. All of the assembly for the stand portion is outlined, I suggest you take a minute and watch the video on his Youtube channel. This is my first submission and I've only had my printer for about 3 months. Please go easy on me!! I swapped the banana plug sockets to the other side so that the resistor portion was all together. And used the small binding posts from this kit on amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KCRMV4V My eyes are getting older and squinting to look at a fuse to see if it is good gets old. Trying to fumble around with test leads and a fuse gets even older fast. There was so much real estate left over on the original tester stand that I decided to add a fuse tester with a 5mm LED as a visual indicator. I have also found myself using it to check diode direction. One way no light, turn it around and light comes on. It operates on a CR2032 battery inserted from the top so that it can be removed when not in use. The fuse clips are all circuit through hole versions that I got on digikey. I will add links below. I used the through hole posts and soldered 22ga. wire to them. Except for the Buss fuse clips, those I cut the tabs off and soldered directly to the base of the clip where the wire hole is. The holes for the blade fuse clips are very tight. You may have to resize the holes depending on what you use. Once everything was in place it was just a matter of wiring it up and heating up the hot glue gun to keep everything in place. I added an optional door/base to close everything up. It has notches for the banana plug sockets. It is a very tight fit and makes a snap sound when you get it into place. Depending on the modifications you make, you may have to resize the door as well. FYI - I tend to print at 100% infill alot of the time. I know I don't need to but I do it anyway. The last one I printed for a friend at 50% infill and it turned out great.
