Sovol SV01 X-axis Limit switch Dual Position Mount
Description
In the process of upgrading my Sovol SV01's mainboard I ran across the problem that the existing stock X limit switch mount, which is part of the x-axis NEMA 17 Motor Mount system and pulley cover, limited the available space on the printbed in the X direction by more than 5mm. Since I use very narrow glass bed retention clips instead of the binder clips that came with the machine, I decided to remodel the housing used on the printer to allow both the stock position and a position 5mm further to the left giving me an extra 5mm of x-axis travel. My total bed travel in x is limited on the right side slightly by an adjustable belt tensioner or I could have gone to even greater width, limited by problems Marlin has with calculating the measured points for the Unified Bed Leveling Mesh - but that's another story. The housing provides two sets of screw holes to mount the limit switch while retaining all the openings of the original housing. This allows the limit switch to be mounted in the original stock position or in a position 5mm to the left. Should you want to use the 5mm offset position then mount the switch in the holes closest to the center of the housing. If you want to use the stock position then use the pair of holes furthest from the center. While designed specifically for the Sovol SV01, the mounting holes were designed to match the NEMA 17 Stepper Motor mounting holes the same as the original Sovol part and might find use on other printers of similar construction.
