Quest 2 Near field BMR rotating off ear headphone speakers for elite strap (same as Valve Index)
Description
I have tried over 20 different audio solutions for the Quest 2, this is by far the best to date. This is a remix of a design I found here, https://prettygood3d.com/post/999028410814/quest-2-off-ear-bmr-v01. However, It lacked a few features, including the ability to rotate off the ear and since I do a lot of sim racing, I made mine look like wheels. It uses the same exact speakers the Valve Index uses below you will find the parts list. I didn't do right and left versions as you can just mirror it in whatever slicer you're using. I also included all the clamps I made to hold the headphone and Link cables neatly in place. 2 Tectonic TEBM35C10-4 BMR speakers - https://www.parts-express.com/Tectonic-TEBM35C10-4-BMR-2-Full-Range-Speaker-4-Ohm-297-216 2 3/4"" #6 machine screws and nuts - Hardware store? 1 right angled 3.5mm cord https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006T9ZKAQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 or https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0032IBYXO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I put a little CA on the threads that came out the other side of the nut to prevent the bolt from backing out. I cannibalized a cord from some cheap Koss KPH7s, I cut the right channel (red) to 47cm, the left channel (green) to 30cm, and put a shrinkable wire cover at 10cm so it wouldn't separate further, all measurements are from the end of the connector. I recently found a nice thick cord that might also work, I modified so it should fit, though I haven't built one yet.
