Annotated Anatomical Skull Display Stand With Cervical Vertebrae and Legend
Description
I've printed Dave's skull stand and found that while it's elegantly designed, the gentle curves do not translate well onto an FDM styled printer, it promotes ringing. So I created one with greater complexity and flatness. I retained his retention nut and added a conduit in case someone needed to run wires. In the flat space I've dropped a simple diagram of the human skull. I've carved out cavities where the feet attack so additional weight can be added for stability. Printing it today, so marked as a work in progress. UPDATE, I got around to printing it, for best quality I decided to print both the vertebrae and the base annotations vertically, so I divided it into two primary pieces. I think it turned out OK, some hazing from the glue, but hopefully the final sealing will obscure that, I'll post a final assembly when complete. Update- After I created the supported model I realized that it would probably render the fine text better if I placed the model horizontally, it also protects more of the forward facing surfaces from support scars.
