Replacement FasTrack Switch Stand (and optionally Lever)
Description
The Lionel Fastrack manual switches have a weak design for the switch stand and lever. It would last a 10 year old kid about 3 minutes before it is broken. I have two switches, both broken. I did order replacement stand and lever for them directly from Lionel : https://www.lionelsupport.com/ReplacementParts/index.cfm?doAction=productPartFilter&number=6-12017&productID=667BBBAF-A2CA-4F87-8E17670528E00197 Item 17 6102017084 STAND / SIGNAL LEVER / FASTRACK MANUAL SWITCH Item 8 6102017094 RED SIGNAL LEVER / FASTRACK MANUAL SWITCH When I got them, I promptly destroyed one of the stands trying to get the feet into the holes on the roadbed. So I decided to design a replacement switch stand myself. (Note that I tried to design a replacement lever as well but its small geometries were beyond my abilities to produce.) Attached is the OpenSCAD code to create the stand. The code also attempts to create a lever but, as I said, I was not successful at that. I used the PrusaSlicer and created PLA gcode files (all attached). If you think you need something stronger, you might want to reslice for ABS. The gcode file is sliced for a Prusa i3 MK2s. The switch stand uses supports which need to be cleaned off. The stand fits snugly into the roadbed holes. I did not use the two small screws to hold it in place. You may need to run a small drill bit though the holes in the stand for the lever.
