Filament spool holder with ball bearings

Filament spool holder with ball bearings

Description

I will try to be as straight forward as possible. Read everything! This is a filament spool holder for Ender 3 V2 / voxelab aquila designed to fit on the original metal bracket. Might fit other printers aswell. The axle mount piece that goes through the bracket is 30mm diameter. Hardware needed: 1x M4x25 1x M4x12 2x 608RS/ZZ ball bearings Step one: Print all parts. You will need 1 of each except cylinder washer of which you need 2. Cylinder inner stop ring is probably optional. Step two: If you decided to go with the cylinder inner stop ring, press this onto the cylinder about 8mm in. Press one of the ball bearing into the end opposing the cylinder inner stop ring is attached. Screw the M4x24 into the axle mount. Screw the M4x12 into the cylinder end cap. Add 1x cylinder washer to each screw. Press the other ball bearing onto one end of the axle. NOTE! You might need to shim the axle bearing races. I used electrical tape as shim. Step three: Screw the axle mount onto the axle. You can use a polygrip to hold the axle and use a screwdriver. Make sure the screw is tight but be careful not to overtighten. We're working with plastic. Press the assembly into the cylinder and the other bearing Screw the cylinder end cap onto the other side of the axle. Make sure the bearings spin freely. Step four: Attach the spool holder to the spool holder bracket using the nut. I hope I made it clear enough. Watch attached pictures. Pay attention to step two and three. Good luck and happy printing!
