Craftbot 608 ball bearing spool holder
Description
This is a simple and easy to print ball bearing spool holder for Craftbot printers, to be clamped onto their genuine friction type 10.5 mm diameter / 99 mm open length spool holder. It uses two standard 608 (skateboard) ball bearings. My impression is that the horizontal top surfaces are now significantly smoother on my Craftbot 3 than with the friction type spool holder. So descend to your basement, fetch that old dusty skateboard and canibalize it for two 608s ! On top of that you need two M3 x 20mm screws and two M3 nuts. As usual I include the OpenSCAD source file in case you want / need to make improvements or adjustments. ==================================================================== Update 9 September 2021: Spools with hubs deviating from a smooth cylinder may cause problems: They will wander of the tube in my original (8 September) design.
