AnyCubic Chiron Direct-Drive

AnyCubic Chiron Direct-Drive

Description

These are the components to convert a stock AnyCubic Chiron to a Direct Drive extruder, using the stock hot-end, extruder, and carriage components. This design also locates the extrude nozzle at "almost" stock location, so you can run stock Chiron firmware. You can still use the stock Chiron probing tool and process. I relocated the filament spool to the top bar, using the stock spool T-nut mount. For electrical work, you will need to 1) solder/lengthen the X- limit switch wire 2) lengthen the Extruder motor cable and bury it into the managed cable stay harness. You will need to obtain some proper size screws, nuts, and hardware. I didn't document which, I just grabbed from parts bin :) My design has a "nub pin" that fixes to the stock extruder housing and this nub is to be hot-glued onto the mount so you can accommodate the tolerances of your assembly. This design makes extruder to be much more rigid on the carriage. The rest of the assembly is pretty much self explanatory, just look at the photos. The stock part cooler fan works okay, but it's not great. I hope to eventually design a 5015 cooler fan shroud. The photos show an upgraded "bigger size" extruder motor, which is just a bolt-on. I had to re-pin the electrical connections to make it work.
