JBL Charge 3 Wall mount (for mounting tape)
Description
Remixed B3rT1979's JBL-3 Wall mount to have it mounted using 3M VHB Mounting tape. I did some rough calculations and concluded that I would need 8.4in^2 of mounting tape to hold it. Additionally, I used a Safety Factor of 1.5 and concluded that I needed 12.6in^2. The final design utilized 13.5in^2 of mounting tape, yielding a Margin of Safety of 0.6. Hold nicely in place and I don't expect it to fall (albeit, I won't have the speaker mounted 24/7). Printed it for shower use, so I'll update how it's holding up. Used an Ender 3 V2 with PLA at 200C extrusion Temp and 50C Bed temp with a 0.4mm nozzle at 0.16mm layer height. I utilized tree supports but I feel like they were not necessary at all. Printed it with mounting surface on the build plate. The arc flexes a bit when pulling on it with my hands, but the speaker does not flex it much when mounted, so I won't worry too much about it. In hindsight, I should have printed it sideways such that the arc that holds the speaker is parallel to the build plate to maximize arc strength with layer orientation. Printing it this way would certainly require supports for the arc. Finally, I used Siemens NX to make the part, and I provided the prt file for anyone to use. Not sure how well Siemens NX files work with other 3D programs, so your mileage may vary.
