Sky Mech

Sky Mech

Description

After designing the Buster Mech, I went ahead and began designing something for it to fight. Since I had the pin/peg joint system down, it didn't take as long to make as the Buster Mech. While the Buster Mech's design was inspired by super robots, heavy machinery, and tanks, the Sky Mech was inspired by fighter jets and bullet trains. I gave the Sky mech a more lankier, lighter look to contrast with the Buster Mech. I also gave it a wingpack to both enhance its silhouette and give it a fighting chance against the Buster Mech's raw power. I designed the head to also have a "blank" face, but added slopes and triangles to give it a sense of intimidation and speed. The Sky Mech was designed with a focus on simplicity, durability, and ease of printing. Joints are achieved through a system of 3mm pins that give just enough friction while also easily removed with pliers (for maximum strength, print these so that the long side of the pin is parallel to the build plate). 3 millimeter ports on the arms and back allow for cross compatibility with most other model kit accessories. I hope you enjoy. Please send feedback as I may create improved versions of the figure in the future. Depending on your printer and plastic, some light sanding and/or tightening of parts may be required. Tightening may be done via thin layers of super glue or multi-surface floor polish.
