Convert Longacre pressure gauge for bicycle use
Description
As seen on Instagram featured by Toolboxwars: https://www.instagram.com/p/CURL0tFBsNM/ Convert a [Longacre tire pressure gauge](https://www.longacreracing.com/products.aspx?itemid=1640) for use with bicycle Presta valves with a disc wheel adapter. Fits any 1/8" NPT pressure gauge but the purpose here is the accuracy of the Longacre gauges. Re-uses the bleed button that comes on the Longacre hose. The disc wheel adapter must have Schrader threads - 5/16-32 UNF - so the models by [Silca](https://silca.cc/collections/accessories-1/products/disc-wheel-mini-chuck) or [Prestacycle](https://www.prestacycle.com/product/prestacycle-right-angle-quick-click2-disc-wheel-head/) will work with this. To keep it even smaller, the [Prestacycle angle mini presta head](https://www.prestacycle.com/product/prestacycle-quick-click2-angle-presta-head/) would work very well but change the reading angle of the gauge. **Background** Tire pressure is key with bicycles, and even more important for racing. Mountain bikes can run pressures well below 20psi, and at those low pressures, being off by a couple psi can make a huge difference. I've used a number of digital tire pressure gauges specifically designed for bikes, such as the [Topeak SmartGauge d2](https://www.topeak.com/global/en/products/45-Gauges/351-SMARTGAUGE-D2) and the [SKS Airchecker](https://www.sks-germany.com/en/products/airchecker-new-generation/) with excellent results. My biggest complaint, however, was the lack of any decimal places, making it harder to know that I was setting a tire to exactly 18.0psi vs "something around 18". I've also wondered about the accuracy of a relatively inexpensive digital gauge. Back in May, PinkBike did an article on the [favorite tools]([https://www.pinkbike.com/news/xc-mechanics-favorite-tools-at-the-albstadt-world-cup-season-opener.html) of several mechanics in the XCO MTB World Cup pits at the Albstadt race. One thing that really caught my attention was [JP Jacobs' ](https://www.instagram.com/jeanpierre_jacobs/) favorite tool, a Longacre pressure gauge. I used to do driving events, so was familiar with Longacre already, and thought this was brilliant. Longacre gauges are top quality and give the extra precision I had been missing in normal bicycle pressure gauges. His setup had just cut the Longacre hose and added a disk wheel adapter pressed into the hose. Simple and effective, sure, but I saw the opportunity to print something to make it all more compact and bring all the key pieces together. I purchased the [Longacre basic gauge](https://www.longacreracing.com/products.aspx?itemid=1715&prodid=95444&pagetitle=Basic-Digital-Tire-Pressure-Gauge) but JP looks to have selected the more precise [Longacre pro gauge](https://www.longacreracing.com/products.aspx?itemid=1715&prodid=95452&pagetitle=Pro-Digital-Tire-Pressure-Gauge) Any one of them should work just fine. I also minimized the internal volume to reduce the amount of air lost to each reading, although the volume in the part is small compared to what's in the disc adapter itself.
