5V/12V UPS with USB charging port
Description
# 5V/12V UPS with USB charging port This case is made for the UPS and battery holder found in parts.txt. It has an USB charging port and can output 5V or 12V. The module can be modified to output 5-24V (~22W) by changing 2 resistors on the board. ## Tinkercad source files https://www.tinkercad.com/things/8QyBhyeSBTU ## Parts - UPS module 5V or 12V ~$3.20 - Battery holder for 4x18650 ~$1.20 - 2x 4pin JST SM2.54 (20 pairs ~$1.92) Links and dimensions can be found in parts.txt and the attached images ## Output power The module can provide 22W and 27W with extra cooling. Due to its low price I was surprised about the quality. Everything is well made, huge cooling areas and proper parts. ## Step-up converter XR2981 - 2.7V to 5.5V input voltage Range - 24V Boost converter with 12A switch current Limit http://www.baitaishengshi.com/uploadfile/2017/1213/20171213541153.pdf My 12V version has a voltage divider with 10K (R9) and 91K (R7), giving an output voltage of 12.49V I modified it for 9V output by replacing the 91K resistor with 62k, to get ~8.93V ## Wiring This is for running the device with external 12V having 12V as an backup The output connector has wired to the UPS 12V out, 12V passthrough, GND and the battery (optional for measuring the voltage) The input connector has 2xGND, 5V (connected to the UPS input) and 12V passthrough The UPS and passthrough need to be connected together with 2 diodes (SS34 for example or an ideal diode) ## Off switch and integrated charger An add-on with an off switch and integrated 5V charger can be found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5028144
