Boom Arm Headphone Holder

Boom Arm Headphone Holder

Description

This is my Headphone hook for my cheap microphone boom arm. It is designed for microphone booms with 10mm x 10mm square extrusion, with an exposed bolt at the top of the vertical beam. This should fit all of the generic cheap boom arms found on Ebay/amazon/etc. There are two parts of the design that clamp around the boom arm, and require 2 M4 bolts (~16mm in length) to connect together: - part_1 which has a through hole - part_2 which has the threads for the bolt There are two versions of part_2, one for threading straight into the plastic (_no_insert), and one designed to have a threaded brass insert melted into it (_insert). Either should work fine, but the threaded brass insert makes for a finished product that can be assembled/taken apart slightly easier. Any M4 threaded knurled brass insert should do. I would recommend one around 5mm in length and melted into the plastic with a soldering iron. I would also recommend using a piece of adhesive-backed felt to create a softer surface for your headphones. The dimensions of the felt that I used are 24mm x ??mm If you make one, please post a make! I would love to see if anyone else finds this useful.
