Viking Sewing Machine Handwheel
Description
The handwheel on my Husqvarna Viking 230 finally gave out after 30 years of service. Reports will neither confirm nor deny use of too many fabric layers. Either of these files should fit most of our favorite Swedish machines that have a 9mm shaft and cross pin. Two files are provided depending on the level of fix you wish to complete. You can print out knob_complete.stl in your favorite filament and be sewing again in under 2 hours. Or, print insert.stl , Dremel out the damaged center of your original knob and epoxy insert.stl in place. This will require more time but retains the original outer handwheel. I found it printed well flat surface down with .2 layer height and 25% infill for strength. I have also increased the number of reinforcing fins to 8 for extra strength (and I know you sew too many layers of fabric like I do). If your machine is dialed in (I printed a test cube) it should push on with minimal force and snap into place. 2021/10/02 - updated inner diameter of knob_complete.
