Mini Drak Caddx Vista and GoPro Hero 7 Mount

Mini Drak Caddx Vista and GoPro Hero 7 Mount

Description

Here is a solution to fly a Caddx Vista with a GoPro Hero 7 on a Mini Drak. The limited cable length between the Caddx Vista and camera requires mounting near where the battery typically sits. Since the Caddx Vista requires lots of airflow this installation location makes sense. I've flown this configuration about 10 times and it has worked great. Print everything with low infill (I used 10%), to save mass. For all parts except the aero mount I selected PETG but ASA or ABS will provide a bit of mass savings. For the Aero mount and camera insert Sainsmart TPU works very well. Printing the Aero mount with 2 perimeters helps keep it flexible enough to easily slip in and remove the GPH7. It really fits like a glove. The Aero mount a slightly modified version of Josh Gault's design. I'd link it here but the design has been pulled from Thingiverse. All credit for this design goes to Josh! I opened up the cavity a little bit to better accommodate the DJI camera shapes. I also added an insert that can be designed for different lens sizes (so you don't need to rip out the entire mount). This particular mount is designed for the Caddx Nebula Pro, but the standard Occusync camera may fit (I haven't tried). Use a 2mm diameter drill bit to clear out the holes in the hinge parts and insert a 2mm diameter fiberglass or carbon fiber rod for the hinge. All fasteners and nuts are M2.5. I used a bit of CA glue to hold the nuts in the bottom. Recommend buying a kit of these on Amazon or ebay to suit your needs.
