Schumacher Top Cat Extended Front Spring Cup
Description
This is an "extended" spring cup for the Schumacher Top Cat (would also work with CAT XLS and Cougar shocks). The Top Cat front suspension uses inboard laydown front shocks, which are positioned over the steering rack. At full droop (when assembled per the kit), the lower shock spring cups will actually rub the rack/pivots when the bellcrank is centered. This can lead to inconsistent steering/centering and challenges with trying to set trim. This could be resolved by putting a limiter within the shock (~1.5-2 mm) within the shock or by increasing the spring cup collar height. Replacing the spring cup is preferred as no shock disassembly is required. These spring cups are approximately 1.8 mm taller than the original spring cups (0.2 mm less to the shock ball cup, and 1.6 mm taller) and allow for full clearance to the steering rack. It is still very close (less than 1 mm) to the rack, but the shock will now clear without rubbing the rack. No post processing should be required other than some light filing for print imperfections.
