Motor Support for Arrma 4x4 3s BLX (Big Rock, Typhon, Granite, Senton, etc.)
Description
Support the cantilevered motor in your Arrma 4x4 3s BLX rig. As explained in the video below, the bending of the motor plate is due to the motor's own mass pulling it down in hard landings. This leads to stripping the spur gear and generally making a mess of things. Thicker motor plates don't seem to fully solve the problem. I was inspired by the comment at 7:45 where he says, "I guess you could 3D print something?" Well, here's the something. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_I6TYMCSjWs Tested on my Big Rock V3. Sits flush on the floor of the chassis. It's a friction fit, or there's a version with loops for a small zip tie. You may need to clock the motor so that the power wires exit roughly vertically. I printed in Carbon Fiber Polycarbonate but ABS or even PLA at 100% will be strong enough. UPDATE 2021.11.28: Added an experimental version that should work with the motors that are clocked 30 degrees CCW like the Typhon 3s. Please let me know if this works for you.
