NX-01 Starfleet Star Trek Ascendancy game piece
Description
This is a game piece I designed to add to the board game Star Trek Ascendancy, for the Starfleet faction. I didn't like that the original game about Star Trek races just getting into space had 'fleets' of ships from far into the future, beyond the races first spaceward expansion. I decided to design game pieces for each faction to give them an Enterprise era fleet. This is the Starfleet NX-01, based on the ship from the show Enterprise, however I added a base and reinforced some areas to make the ship a game piece that would be less likely to break. I found the best print quality was printing multiple ships at once (so the nozzle doesn't stay above one model and deform it with excessive heat) and tilting the design up 45 degrees. You can add these pieces to the current game to give your game a feel of advancing through the ages from just getting warp technology to becoming the main power in the galaxy. I designed this to be similar size and shape as the main game pieces, and to be sturdy. Designed for an FDM printer with PLA, so I didn't go too fancy on the details, you're welcome to fancy it up if you'd like. Let me see what you do with 'em!
