Landroid S battery cover for bigger battery, smooth edges
Description
This is a Battery cover for bigger battery, like the 21700-type for longer lasting power. This larger cover allows you to use a bigger battery without having to cut into the robot to make room, thus preserving warranty. The design is based on the following thingiverse submission, though I made it from scratch. [Landroid S, 2017 to 2018 Battery Cover for bigger Battery](/thing:3764270) by [stevecux](/stevecux) I only used measurements from his initial design, since that design is only available in STL format, which isn't suited for this level of modifications. The main reason I redesigned this cover, is that I was given a PLA print of [stevecux](/stevecux)'s design with the bigger battery I now use. It worked well for about a year, but then one day it fell off. All the screw-brackets at the corners had simply broken off. My theory is that the flat face of the cover impacted with stuff while mowing, taking a lot of mini hits over time, slowly damaging the cover, and the corners were the weakest point, so they gave up, one by one, until the cover eventually failed completely. The So the main difference of this new cover is the smoothed edges, hopefully deflecting some impacts instead of absorbing the full force. Also I think it looks better. **Version 1** is basically identical to the initial design, though with curved sides instead of flat. **Version 2** is wider, so it follows the contours of the robot body closer, making it even smoother. All versions have the same amount of space available inside, as well as the same height as the initial design by [stevecux](/stevecux). I prefer version 2, which is what I use now, but I really like version 1 as well, which is why it is included here. **Both versions**, *like the initial design by [stevecux](/stevecux)*, **require that you re-use the original rubber seal from the factory cover**.
