Ender 3 Linear Direct Drive Extruder - Standard Hot-end

Ender 3 Linear Direct Drive Extruder - Standard Hot-end

Description

Version 1 18/10/21: Designed purely for use with an Ender 3/Pro that uses a linear rail for the x-carriage assembly and sensorless homing. This design has not been tested with limit switches! Designed to be used with a standard Creality Ender 3 style hot-end, I have combined my favourite part cooling system and my own modified extruder mount to feed TPU and other materials more consistently. To fit the x-carriage belt, you will need new brass crimping or just use 4x zip-ties. Fitting the belt before screwing the main plate to your linear rail slider is crucial for easier installation. Assembly requires insertion of Capricorn tubing into hot-end before inserting into extruder, cut the Capricorn tubing to a nice sharp angle when in the extruder mount to reduce the chance of filament binding during extrusion as seen in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJ0h3_vNpno Please note that assembling parts requires thermally inserting some brass threaded inserts! 3D print settings may alter the accuracy / tightness of fittings and minor post processing may be necessary based on your printer.
