Tamiya Stadium Blitzer / Futaba FXT Front Arm
Description
Front arm for the Tamiya Stadium Blitzer / Futaba FXT. This is also the same as the front arms for the Tamiya Bearhawk and Blitzer Beetle. This arm is a modified version of the original design. The original has one mounting location for the shock, which works fine, but this arm adds two additional locations. The middle hole location is the same as the original design. The major update to the arm design is around the outer knuckle/spindle mounting. If assembled per the manual, the Stadium Blitzer/FXT has an incredible amount of bump steer. This is largely driven by the angle/position of the steering links versus the arms. If you swap the LH/RH spindles to the opposite sides of the vehicle (changing the ball stud position to the bottom side), a significant amount of bump steer is reduced. However, when that position is used, the steering throw is reduced due to interference between the ball cup/stud and the arm. You can modify the original arms but the hinge pin will still be a limiting factor. This design modifies the arms in that area and increases the front mounting to reduce the amount that the hinge pin extends pass the arm. The knuckle/spindle position is unchanged from stock so wheelbase and width is the same. You can use self-tapping screws, but I would suggest using M3 machine screws for the shock mounting. If so, use a M3 tap to tap the holes. Ream the hinge pin holes with a 3 mm drill bit.
