Voxelab Aquila Mainboard Cover for 80mm quiet fan modification

Voxelab Aquila Mainboard Cover for 80mm quiet fan modification

Description

This is a cover for the Voxelab Aquila printer's mainboard. It allows for the installation of a larger/quieter fan. Unfortunately, the 80mm fans out there are usually not 24V fans, so you have to install a buck-converter to get the 24 volts from the PSU and dial them down to 12V for the new fan. In order to allow this whole assembly to be printed without supports, the cover and each cage have to be printed separately and then they just click in place... Though you can use a little bit of glue to make it permanent. Of course if you're going to change the fan for the mainboard you should also change the fan for the PSU. For that you can use my PSU cover design (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4972200) Parts: * 80mm fan - Your choice but I recommend these: (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KF7T9MI/) * Buck converter - I used one like this one. Sorry they don't seem to sell just one. (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076H3XHXP) * A few inches of wire and a couple of forks-spade connectors for the PSU terminals. * Soldering is optional but it's the only real way to make these connections reliable. Lastly, this modification will probably require you to raise your printer up by a few millimeters. Stick something under your printer's rubber feet, or custom print it... There are plenty of options out there.
