Filament Spool Relocation for Sidewinder X1

Filament Spool Relocation for Sidewinder X1

Description

If you have a spare piece of 4020 T-slot profile bar lying aroung, this is an easy way to relocate the existing spool holder of the Sidewinder X1 (probably X2 as well) off the top gantry in order to reduce Z-wobble. It has two parts, one which is the carriage for the spool device (2 parts) and one which is a pulley system (3 parts). You will need the following: - 125mm piece 4020 T-slot aluminum profile bar - 4 M3 T-nuts - 4 M3 screws - 1 30mm M3 bolt - 1 M3 lock nut - 2 PC4-01 connectors (optional) - 1 PTFE tube with an outer diameter of 4mm and an inner diameter of 3mm (optional) The device works just as well without the PC4-1 connectors and the PTFE tube. However, if you do use the tube system, use a 3mm inner diameter and not 2mm as the standard is, as this might create some drag. Hell, try 2mm inner diameter, it will probably work just as well. You can print this at 0.2mm layer heights, and no specific material is required. I used PTEG, which probably ensures some strength to the very thin filament runout detector mount. You will need supports on the inside of the spool holder, to ensure that the tray will slide in easily. try get the supports close to the inner walls. Other than that the standard settings will do fine. Would love to see some remixes (total noob at fusion sorry if the step file is broken) Also, the orientation of the models aren't correct. The wheel needs to be flat, the runout sensor mount upright, and the pulley mount needs to be flat with the receiving piece facing up.
