BMW E31 8-series headlight adjuster wheel

BMW E31 8-series headlight adjuster wheel

Description

The pop-up headlight buckets in the BMW E31 8-series (840i, 850i, and other models) use four of these little metal wheels to adjust the pitch and yaw of the beams (two wheels per side). One of my adjuster wheels was missing when I bought the car, so the light was always tilting forward and the beam was aiming way too low. Alternative solutions include replacing the entire bucket (> $150 per side) or using some weird improvised vise clamps to grab the adjuster shaft. I also tried zip ties, but they couldn't pull the bucket up far enough, and I was worried they would melt with the heat from the lights. I decided 3D printing was the best option.
