Ender5+ Electronics Case

Ender5+ Electronics Case

Description

UPDATE 07/12/2021 Nolonger a work in progress. All parts uploaded are fitted to my printer and working as intended. I recommend that you measure youre printers frame to confirm all dimensions before commiting to printing parts and ordering panels. I will not held responsible if this does not fit your printer as it does mine...all printers have slight differences in dimensions. The aluminium panel can be acrylic if you want too. Just do not put too much pressure on any of the mounting screws around the perimeter. The BOM is underway. --- UPDATE 16/11/2021 To BOM or Not to BOM? Uploaded new main stl file, individual stl's, a stp file and the aluminium panel plan. The two fans are quiet enough not to swap them out for Noctua type fans, you can hear them but they are not offensively loud. All the DIN mounts will be uploaded to a separate model as they are Voron remixes. --- UPDATE 11/11/2021 Some more photos of how it looks. Currently waiting on right angle usb cable from RPI to MCU to have the electronics case completed. The two 4010 fans directly blowing across the mcu works a treat and I can feel the air flow through the vents on the other side with the acrylic panel fitted. May need to change them to Noctua fans or maybe install the SKR2.0 I have to actually control the fans when required. --- UPDATE 10/11/2021 Before and after shots added. Still not quite completed but how it's turning out I'm very happy with it. --- Another design teaser... Ender 5 Plus Electronics Case Design Requirements No.1 keep as compact as possible trying not exceed the printers stock dimensions. No.2 design to be used with my corexy conversion system. I decided to move the Ender5plus's electronics to the rear of the machine... I have had my printer like this for some time now using an aluminium panel on the rear with all the electronics hanging out back but I wanted to make it safer and more compact, so I have kept the fundamentals of the design, but moved it within the existing stock frame. I have designed it in combination of my ender5plus corexy conversion. Utilizing a new waterjet cut aluminium panel that fits within the channels of additional 2020 extrusions and within the rear of the stock frame I have all the electronics mounted on two DIN rails. All stl's will be uploaded once I have put it all together to confirm the design is working and houses the electronics as designed. At this point I'm not sure about a BOM but if there's enough interest I'll see what I can do. BTW... I am currently designing a top enclosure with hinged lid... that will definitely not work with steppers hanging off the rear and inverted (IMO a clumsy non-compact design). Teaser coming soon.
