schuli PhoneMount

schuli PhoneMount

Description

Needed an additional iPhone mount for the 67 designs mounting system in our overlanding vehicle. Unfortunately the original universal G2 holder was sold out for month, so that I finally had to design and build an alternative holder for our needs. My schuli PhoneMount was built for iPhone Xs / 11 Pro size and can be used for any phone width between ca. 59mm - 86mm (ca. 2.3 - 3.3in). With some postprocessing (please have a look at my sanding recommendations at the provided pictures) I got a very nice and smooth result. The current product works even smother and quieter than the reference holder in aluminium, so that I decided to replace even the G2 holder with my own product, which I'm sharing with you. Please keep in mind, that I can highly recommend the Design 67 products as the Jeep JL Rail Mount and the Carbon Fiber Arms. I would not have built this schuli PhoneMount, if a second Universal for Phone G2 from Design 67 would have been available at time of ordering the rail system. MATERIAL PA6-CF I built my schuli PhoneMount in PA6-CF (nylon with carbon enforced). I assume, that you can also take other filaments as ABS, as long as there's some thermal resistance for car use. NinjaFlex As an additional shock absorber and to eliminate any abrasion from carbon to the phone, I added a red flex overlay to the base mount, which was printed in Ninjaflex TPU in Fire Red. To build this schuli PhoneMount you need additional parts as: • 2 x Springs 5 x 25mm • 1 x Screw M6 x 25mm Tools needed for finishing and assembling: • Thread cutter M6 • Drills 6mm and 6.5mm • Sainding paper 200 and 600 grain • a cord to assembly the PhoneMount • and a scissor to cut the cord while assembling PRINTING ORIENTATION I recommend to print the parts in orientation as showed at the provided pictures. My recommendation does consider the spring forces in layer orientation. FREE AND OPTIONAL TIP / DONATION I decided to share the final version of my high quality product with you, the makers community, for non-commercial applications only. Maybe my product will inspire other makers, will improve your ability to build things by studying and learning from it or you enjoy the final product by just printing it for your own use. If you feel generous to support my investment and effort, you're very welcome to tip or donate me through PayPal.me: https://paypal.me/schuli42 Have fun :-) and "just do it!"
