filament guide ender 6
Description
after upgrading to a direct drive extruder. i removed the stepper and gears from the stock extruder to make use of the bowden tube attachment. i have never been a fan of the way the stock extruder feeds. it doesnt feed centrally from the roll etc. i was even less impressed after having removed the gears as the aluminium section that takes the bowden cable is obviously not designed for feeding filament into it at an angle. originally there would have been some gears to align the filament before it enters the bowden. so i decided to make my own filament guide to replace the stock extruder parts completely. this accepts the stock bowden fitting. has a conicle relief so the filament has nothing to rub against before it enters the bowden fitting no matter what angle it is feeding from [i may modify to take some kind of spherical bearing to work as a gyro so that it can tilt towards the side the filament is feeding off the roll from at some point in the future]. it sits centrally to the roll when using a spacer so that the roll isnt touching the perspex which i assume most people do [i use this one https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4769868 sometimes 2 if the roll has an undercut to it, thank you swithenbank, such a simple thing but does exactly what its intended for]. this replaces the stock extruder mount and repurposes the original bolts to attach it to the chassis. you will require 4x m3x8mm cap head bolts to bolt the guide to its mount
