Minimal Filament Shelf Bracket for .625" (15.88mm) OD Pipe
Description
Got tired of searching through my pile of colored filament to determine which colors I had available. Needed a shelf to stack them on for easy identification. Created a minimal filament shelf bracket to fit a .625 inch OD copper pipe length I had laying around. The shelf was designed such that the brackets would not interfere with the placement of the spools. Every portion of the rod is accessible for placing a filament roll. A .625" OD wood dowel would likely also work instead of a pipe. I strongly suggest use of PETG, but PLA would probably work. Mounting into studs and use of washers to increase contact between screw head and plastic is recommended. Be sure to proof test the shelf prior to stacking anything on it. I used a dumbbell with the equivalent weight of 15 full rolls of filament (15 kg) and set it at the center of the shelf. IMPORTANT: your filament, print settings and mounting technic may increase or reduce the capacity of the shelf, print and use at your own risk. Each shelf bracket requires about 66g of filament to print when printed solid (which is highly recommended).
