Resin Vat Drain Stand
Description
This rig is designed to require as few store bought parts as possible and to provide the widest resin bottle size compatibility possible. In short, I did not want to spend any money on the project, so it's done as cheaply as I could get away with. You should be able to assemble the entire project for around $5 plus filament (that includes the bolts/nuts and the post which is made from a 20mm diameter broom/mop handle.) The funnel holder ring is meant to be used with silicone funnels, but any funnel that will fit in the ring should work. I did not build in a funnel because cleaning resin off of 3d printed parts is almost impossible due to layer lines. There's enough of an offset to accommodate the funnel and a filter and still be able to used with even very large resin bottles. The base in intentionally thick and heavy for the highest stability possible. I have a Proxima 6 resin printer, and the vat holder is designed with that resin tank in mind (the tank has ears that fit under the thumbscrews on the printer so there is a slot in the bottom to accommodate that). Once in the holder, there is enough room for the vat to lean forward a couple of degrees and an intentional gap in the back to prevent the FEP from contacting the vat holder. Enjoy.
