Filament Refill Adapters
Description
Save some money and pollute less by buying filament refills and converting your empty spools to hold them. Refills come in a variety of flavors and colors and can usually save at least the cost of the reel. (See Amazon.com) But after considering the spool designs offered here on T-verse. I decided to just print threaded adapters and reduce the print time. I cut empty spools in half and glued in the adapters using a little Crazy Glue (TM). You won't need a band saw to cut the spools, an ordinary hand saw will do fine. Measure the inner diameter of your spool, scale my "thing" to fit it and print. (I mean print a male/female pair.) If you sometimes cook moisture out of your filament then choose a material that won't melt. NOTE: Credit is deserved by someone else who designed the male and female threads that I used in my design. I guess I should call this a remix but I can't remember who's file I got them from. I was impressed and I have the feeling that a lot of spool designers are also using it.
