X,Y, Z macro rail for Z stacking and macro panoramas

Description

These are parts for a 3 axes macro rail that can be used to create Z stacks, macro panoramas or with additions could also be used for photogrammetry. The design leans heavily on that of Citrofan (lineair slide for xy table June 25, 2015 - see https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:898212). In this version of that object all the parts are assembled using melt-in 3mm brass inserts and 3mm stainless Allen bolts and the base is 3D printed, rather then being a piece of plywood. All the parts were designed using TinkerCad and printed on a Prusa Mk2.5S using PETG with 35% infill and 0.2mm layer height - other plastics such as PLA and ABS would also work. The leadscrew is 8mm diameter with a 2mm lead with an anti backlash brass nut. The rails are 8mm stainless smooth rod. Four 8mm linear bearings are required for the slide and a 608ZZ bearing for the end plate. The project is described on my website https://petermobbs.wordpress.com/2020/03/16/a-mostly-printed-focus-rail-the-gigapixel-project-part-3/ - see also the earlier 2 parts and the description of the software for the Arduino Mega that is used to run the setup. Code is available at https://github.com/pgmobbs/Gigapixel-MPFR. I designed this because the only available commercial offering costs many hundreds or thousands of £s/$s. The rails can also be used with the handwheels when the steppers are not powered. A simple turntable added to the stage (not shown) allows the production of stereo macro photos. The software allows and automates, the production of Gigapixel macro panoramas. The design (such as it is!) is freely offered as is the software. However, I would ask that the source of the object and software is acknowledged and if modifications are made, that you notify me of them.
