Description
I am a graphic designer who creates digital files for printing onto garments. I own about 5 plotters and they all use the old 1.9mm roland style blade. My newest machine is a GCC expert 24 LX (2) and takes a slightly thicker blade than the rest (2.5mm vs 1.9mm) they both function the same but the 2.5mm blade is hard to find and expensive . The 1.9 mm cost me around $1 where the 2.5 mm cost me about $10. For that, I've created the expert 24lx (2) blade holder with a 1.9mm blade slot. It fits! It works! but it needs improvements. I will be working on it and updating the files with the name - Date. while testing , I notice the bottom cap may need to have a rounded face as opposed to a flat face. I couldn't wait until I was completed before sharing with the world! Have fun and adjust as needed. Come back for better versions . I will be focusing on the Expert 24LX (2) but this fits the Ar-24 / Clipper / expert 24 & lx II , and possible all new GCC plotters. I have over 1000 old 1.9mm blades and I plan on using them. 2mm blades (1.9mm) are basic blades used in roland,us cutter, etc. They are not the same as graphtec brand of blades. GCC,US Cut , Roland, and most generic plotters use the same 2mm blade and are converting to 2.5mm. I used a small magnet inside to keep the blade from slipping out. Harbor freight small magnets come in a tube item #67488 magnet size ( 7.9-8mm radius -1.9-2mm height/thick) no glue it just fit for me. The pieces come together and you can glue the 2 top pieces and keep the bottom cap for blade height adjustment. I am a professional graphic designer not a 3d printer most of this was made in photoshop and exported as a file then edited in tinkercad and converted with cura. I hope you find this useful and are satisfied. Happy printing!
