Losi Super Baja Rey 2.0 Battery Compartment Plus (SBR2BC+) v0.1
Description
*Added f3d and step files I was most recently working with. Model does need some modification to fit. The aluminum spine is in the way as well as part of the ESC mount. I'm going to revisit this soon and try to redesign it. This is an attempt to extend the battery compartment in the SBR 2.0 to accomodate larger profile lipo packs. I tried to replicate the OEM part for the bottom 20mm for the screw mounts, pegs and latch/release system for the battery tray. Above that it just expands a few MM in the forward, DS and PS directions. Hopefully this is enough space to broaden the range of useable batteries in the truck. I also omitted the open walls the OEM had since all that seemed to do was allow dirt and junk to pass freely around the batteries and inside the compartment. I left the top open also in 1 version with slots for straps or velcro if you maybe want to try a top loading battery system. This might be helpful to bypass the smaller opening below and the jamming of the door from dirt during normal operation. There is also one with a top. I am thinking of also removing the 2 pegs from the bottom as I don't think they are needed and they kinda get in the way for a potential quicker slicing orientation for the model. They are easy enough to sheer off in the meantime. There are some things missing I need to add, like the 2 screws up above the cable port eclipse. And that entire backside the cables exit might not even fit up against the sway bar guide location....yeah.. and I don't know if the battery door will latch up ok or if the latch will pass through ok.... Testing is needed :) This is an extremely early concept, model, design, etc etc. My printer decided it didn't want any part of this and broke while I was attempting to print this (good sign!). So it is untested even for proper fitment at the moment :(. I am sure it will need some finessing into place and some sanding until I can get it dialed in. I am very new to CAD and Fusion360 so I'm sure every mistake and wrong way to do something, I did along the way as I learn. I'm cool with tossing STEP files or whatever to whomever wants to look at my orchestra of chaos that is the design history timeline :P. Thanks for checking it out! Looking forward to getting this functional so all us SBR2 drivers can use 6000mAh+ packs without having to use excessive force.
