Must have Firmware _ Sidewinder X1/X2/Genius _ Mirror of "Digant"

Follow the remix link to get to the full "Digant" page. From the great variety of firmeare versions that Digant is providing, I put together here the most relevant to my opinion. You want to get rid of the weak originally firmware of your X1/X2/Genius/Genius Pro? Read this! For Sidewinder X1: 1st scenario - you dont want to upgrade to an automated bed leveling function (ABL) by mounting an Touch Sensor onto your Extruder body. You want nothing else than the new comforatable firmware menü funktions? Upgrade the TFT menue with the "tft 1.27 Patch 7" files as shown in the video which is linked below. After that you choose the "mbl.rar" to upgrade your mainboard marlin. In the end you will have plenty of nice features within your new TFT touch menue. The best of all is the mesh bed leveling that you now have availailable to overcome the challenges of whatever unflat bed surface you use. Perfect first layers will be the result. 2nd Scenario: You decide to mechanically mount a Touch Sensor onto your extruder carriage. It will cost only about 20-30 Dollars. A video below shows how easy it is. There are different ways for the cabeling of such sensor. Digant ist providing 3 choices. I suggest the easiest method, which is called the "waggster z max". See the video below how to do it. When the touch sensor ist mounted, you install new firmware just as in scenario 1. But here you have to use "waggster z max" instead the mbl version. You will even more love your printer after any of these upgrades :-) For old Genius (not PRO): Don´t use any of the firmware here as it is for genius. Due to the different bed size etc. there need to be made some changes. There are several remixes of Digant here on Thingiverse available espacially for the Genius. So you might just search a bit und download there. If you feel a bit more capable to compile firmware by yourself, than go to the Digant site and read what changes have to be made. For new Sidewinder X2: Your printer ist running on a modern 32board. Digant has so far now Marlin 2.0.9.2 Version for that board. So sorry, until now you must live with your original Factory-Marlin. Good news is, that your factory Marlin ist probably fine also in combination with Digant`s Touch Display firmware. So you just install the TFT Patch 7 firmware on your X2 using a small SD Card as shown in my video. If you need other than english language on your Printer menue, that you have to sort a bit the language pack files on your SD card. As a result you will use a wonderful comfortable Menue on your Sidewinder X1. For new Genius Pro: Same as for the Sidewinder X2. You can not use the Digant Marlin. Here also the good news that you anyhow can use Digan`s TFT menue firmware "TFT FW Patch7". But you have to change the bed size in the config.ini file before flashing onto your printer. Go to Digant`s page and read what needs to be changed. You will love the new possibilities.
