Reptile show display case
Description
This is an idea I had after seeing some expensive pvc show cases. Since I don't want to buy a laser cutter yet or saw these things myself I designed this. Basically it holds four 4.25inc deli cups for showing geckos at a...well at a reptile show. The goal is to be sturdy yet light, portable, affordable and look nice. The original model(Displaycase-internal) is not very optimized and took me upwards of 17 hours to print. on top of that the legs were very fragile. I'm really only including it just for progression. It was also super unwieldy. As the name somewhat implies there were four other pieces, flat external walls that could be used to hold a plexiglass sheet in front of the geckos. The next model(ReinforcedDisplayCase) is better, in that the legs don't break on contact, but it doesn't solve the problem of the full thing being cumbersome. It's nice, but not perfect for me. The latest is supposed to be more...modular? I've separated the legs and made it so that they slide in as needed so they're hopefully easier to transport, print and fix if the legs break. That being said, the print for the actual holder is ongoing, so I will update once that has finished and make updates as need be. Depending on the outcome, I'll design the sides and risers for this newer version. If you want to try the latest version, print: 1 x Top, 2 x RearLeg and 2x FrontLeg I find my printer struggles with adhesion on typical bed settings with this print, so I have my bed temp bumped to 110C when printing this. Please note, this print is huge, my bed is 300mm x 300mm and it takes up most of it. I may design a more modular version that consists of individual support circles for faster, more versatile prints, but I'm not sure. If interested, please let me know.
