Artist-D Pro Silicone-Wipe Purge Bucket
Description
I love the idea of using a piece of silicone, instead of a wire brush, to keep my nozzles clean, especially when I have a silicone sock on my extruder. But I haven't used a purge bin since adding custom extruders to my Pro. For stock hardware, use the "Pro Bucket". For anything else, try the adjustable mounts. These mounts fit the right side, mirror it in your slicer for the left side. Thanks to DaHai Zhu for posting his step file, or I wouldn't have created this. Needs a 13 (?) mm x 25 mm piece of silicone sheet. I have included wipe mounts in 3 different sizes, depending on how thick your sheet is. You probably only need two wipers, but I included slots for three, just because more is always better. These sheets are about 1 mm thick: 10px cutting mat, again, not tested, but since most of what I found on Amazon is paper-thin, this is what I had planned to order. "Silicone" stl is a template for cutting, but you could print it out of PETG or ABS for sizing, testing. See yydoctt's thing for the non-Pro purge bucket and scripting ideas.
Update 12/15/2021: Added separate mount and bucket with a horizontal slide section (secured by a 3m screw) to (hopefully) allow the bucket to work with custom extruders. Update 12/16/2021: Updated adjustable mount to drop to 27 mm from stock, for custom extruders. If we need to go taller, we can probably adjust the height of the silicone wipe mounts.
Like my work? Post a make!
