The PrettyCool Gunstock for VR - Quest 2
Description
Hi! I'm a former CAD designer, and always found myself being frustrated by the existing gunstock available on this website. I also did a lot of games with Sanlaki's gunstock. The Touch were under a lot of beating with that kind, especially the left controller. . So I designed mine, with some inspiration from users Punkbuddy89 and especially Bluefreddo. Features : -Design focused on preserving the durability of Touch controller. -Robust and light design. -Adjustable strength for the magnet, -Carbon tube for lightness and rigidity, -Dimension taken from an IRL replica. -The shape of the cheekpiece comes from a MOD buttstock, pretty comfortable when shouldering the VR gunstock. -The cheekpiece is adjustable, and its shape modified to allow room for the headset when shouldering. About the various games I tried : I tested the gunstock with Onward and Pavlov, works great with even the less common weapons like the bolt action rifles and heavy machine guns, where the left hand could hinder to reload. It was important for me to be able to adjust the position and orientation ingame, so the main axis can be adjusted with indexed swivels. About the left hand controller: No magnet for this one, Punkbuddy89 had a pretty good idea with his gunstock, and I allowed myself to keep his design. You don't have to search for the magnet like on other gunstocks, it's much more instinctive as you trust your sense of touch to find the cup. Parts needed : 1 x Carbon Tube CFK OD30 ID28 LGH155 2 x Hex screw M6x40 - Steel 1 x Hex screw M6x50 - Steel 1 x Hex screw M6x35 - Steel 6 x Hex locknut M6 with plastic insert - Steel 1 x Socket head screw M6x35 - Steel 1 x Hex nut M6 - STAINLESS !!!! 1 x Magnet D31 THK5 About the magnet and its adjustable strength: I understand that it can be hard to procure the very magnet I used. As a guideline, it should welcome magnets up to a diameter of 32mm, and you should avoid going lower than 6-7 mm of thickness. The washer was coming from another magnet I had delivered, they often come with the magnet, with the corresponding hardware for installation. As the strength is adjustable with the part named "Magnet holder", you will be able to adjust the ideal retaining power.
