Cable gland with 1/2" - 16 UN thread
Description
The cable gland on the Christmas projector light broke and the wires are molded into it and cannot be repaired. I think this is not an uncommon problem as the cabling on these outdoor lights is often of poor quality. I had to measure the thread and my best guesstimate was a 1/2" thread with 16 turns per inch which is a 16-UN - Unified Extra Fine Thread. Instead of having one hole for a two wire cable, I made 2 holes for 2mm cables. The holes themselves have been dimensioned to 2.4mm.
