Huawei MediaPad M5 camper roof mount
Description
I created this to have my Huawei MediaPad M5 as a mediacenter hanging from my camper (VW T5 so not too spacious) roof where it can be attached when needed (aka lying in bed). I didn't like it to be mounted somewhere on the walls because those are made from cardboard and not very stable. So I decided to have a mount screwed to the middle beam using a M6 threaded rivet. I used 6 neodymium magnets size 8x3 mm to have it snapping to the roof mount. These were added during printing by pausing the print at 3,6 mm height (use Cura function or add code manually to G-Code). Holder and magnetic joint are connected by an approximately 180 mm threaded rod, also M6. When screwed tight, this enables it to not only hang down but to be adjusted to the preferred angle. Also some 1,5 or 2 mm thick sheet steel (diameter 50 mm) is needed. Just to give it a try I printed the roof mount as a mix from TPU and PET-G. The first 20 layers are TPU to have it soft and self adjusting to the slightly curved plastic strip that covers the beam and also to prevent scratches. Maybe I have to remove it some day.
