Levitating Spikey Shell
Description
This is my design for Bowsers shell that comes out of the black goop in Super Mario 3D world: Bowsers Fury. Just like in the game, his shell is covered in a thick black goop and the base/sea is spikey aswell. So grab yourself a nice silk black filament to print this to match. I've debated on how to set this up to print, as due to the obvious nature of rounded/curved objects, makes printing a nightmare without supports or rough surfaces. But alas, I think I got a good version. I've split the main shell in half so they print flat, which connect together with a support box to align the two shell halves. This avoids any supports and doesn't look too bad when combined with silk filament. The spikes themselves print fine, and in groups depending on the location of the shell. 8x for the lower shell, 8x for the middle, 4x for the top and the final bigger spike, which prints with an extra cylinder; otherwise the single spike deforms under the constant heat. The base is simple, no supports, just watch your stringing. As alternative, I've included the z_BF_MainShell_Alt which is spit in half midway rather then sideways. This hides the seem of the cut behind the shell's main curve, which then have 2 alt variants. You can either print 2 cut halves standing up, with supports (the supports on the inner side, hiding the uglyness of the supports inside the shell), or the complete curve in 1 go, but needed supports all around. This then just snaps into place around the 2 shells.
