I've been thinking about how to use an old Canon 75-300mm lens. So, I have decided to use it as a guide scope for astrophotography. I am still working on a second, upgraded version, that will allow me to use built-in focusing motor and focus without touching the lens. For now, I am sharing this basic version where it is possible to focus manually. Main bracket is designed in a way, that you can design and replace dovetail clamp with whatever mount/clamp you need, it is attached via two M5 screws at the bottom. I designed dovetail clamp to fit my Explore Scientific scope. You will need: 3 x M3x10-15mm bolts and nuts to connect camera holder to a lens holder (or you can use threaded inserts and M3 bolts) 1 x M4x10-15mm bolt and nut for a camera clamp 2 x M5x10mm and bolts to fix dovetail clamp to a lens holder 1 x M3x60 and nuts for a dovetail clamp if you decide to print it 1 x M3x10mm for a zoom lock - optional 3 x M3 treaded inserts for lens fixation In the pictures you can see it mounted on my Explore Scientific ED102. I did print already version where I added a connector for the lens. I will release later second version along with Arduino schematic/program for a focus control.
