Description

Compliant claw mechanism designed by Team 14084 [Insert Name Here] for the 2021-2022 FIRST Tech Challenge competition. Designed to work with the Rev Smart Robot Servo and Rev Aluminum Servo Horn. STL, 3MF, and STEP files available for use and/or modification. The claw was designed to mimic a hand grabbing, turning out to be a fairly effective design for this year's challenge. We used Rev's UHMWPE Cord and attached it via screws to the servo horn in the center of the mechanism and knots on the end of each arm to be able to move the arms. Requires a bit of trial and error to get the right amount of tension so the claw can get a full grip. We also found that adding rubber bands to the end of the claw gives extra grip, so give that a try if you are having some troubles with grip.
