iOptron CEM40 Intel NUC bracket
Description
Hello to all, this is my first attempt to share my first thing, please, be patient and considerate... ;) This is an add-on box for the 10th generation Intel NUC that can be easily placed on an iOptron CEM40 mount or on a vixen rail. It contains 3x 12V outputs (for CEM40, camera and other device), 2x PWM adjustable outputs for heating tapes (The second PWM controller is missing in the photos, but it should fit.), 19V output for NUC and 2 additional USB connectors. Unfortunately, I couldn't learn to use Astroberry / Stellarmate. I use N.I.N.A. astro software that is simpler, clearer and more stable for me. I started using a laptop with a USB hub, but I was bothered by the wired connection, the limited cable length and the need to leave my expensive laptop outside. I decided to buy an Intel NUC 10i3FNKN which should be good enough for astro imaging and make an additional box with a power supply for NUC for easy outdoor use, powered by a car battery. Placed directly on my CEM40 mount. NUC is accessed via a WiFi access point (which starts after an automatic login), remotely from my laptop, from a warm heated car, through remote desktop connection (Win 10 Pro on NUC) :). The whole box can be easily screwed to the bottom of the Intel NUC and can be placed on the iOptron CEM40. There are two options how to mount this: 1. place it to the CEM40 deck 2. to the Vixen rail (this one is not tested, I am not sure if it will fit) BOM: 3x DC connector 5,5/2,1mm https://www.gme.cz/napajeci-souosy-konektor-ds-025b 1x USB 2.0 connector https://www.gme.cz/konektor-usb2x90 couple of https://www.gme.cz/napajeci-souosy-konektor-hs21 1x DC connector 5,5/2,5mm (for NUC) https://dratek.cz/arduino/51523-dc-konektor-5.5x2.5mm-vodeodolny.html 2x PWM reg https://dratek.cz/arduino/2162-regulator-rychlost-pwm-5v-16v-10a-s-ultra-vysokou-linearitou.html (or any other small one) 2x DC connector 5.5/2,5 https://dratek.cz/arduino/75088-napajeci-kabelovy-konektor-dc-5.5-2.5.html 1x 150W step-up module https://dratek.cz/arduino/5463-step-up-menic-150w-z-10-32v-na-12-35v.html for 19V NUC power requirement 1x 12V input from Car Battery https://www.laskakit.cz/konektor-12mm-gx12-4p--kabel/ for 12V power Input from Car Battery (doubled wires - 2 pins for 12V, 2 pins for GND - redundancy, possibility to deliver more different voltages if needed/possible - can be changed for another, but this one is small enough...) 1x 12V input into box https://www.laskakit.cz/konektor-12mm-gx12-4p--panel/ 2x output for heating - different shape could be useful in the night https://www.laskakit.cz/napajeci-konektor-dc-022-5-5-2-1mm-do-panelu/ few M3 screws (different length, check our drawer), M3 nuts 2x 1.25 mm pitch cables for additional USB2.0 https://rcstudio.cz/cs/prislusenstvi/88-kablik-jst-gh-125mm-4pin-150-mm.html?search_query=JST4p125-153&results=1 I am using iOptron CEM40 mount, Classic Cassegrain 8" 203mm, or Celestron ED80/600. Box could be mounted on CEM40 (tested) or Vixen rail (should be OK, but not tested yet, be careful and excuse my mistakes) Please, if you decide to use this, do not forget to setup correct voltage for NUC! You can damage your NUC if you do not set the output voltage correctly (20V or below) Please, be careful! O thx
