thin lightweight wallet with inlaid color
Description
Thin, easy to assemble and features an inlaid secondary color of your choice. The three layer pegged design allows all the pieces to align flush and give further support when adhering the layers together. The dimensions are similar to the Ridge wallet or other comparators, but it is quite thin, 3.5mm. To build this wallet you will need 1/2in braided elastic, which can be cut to 4.75"-5.00" strips (with the variation based on how tight you want the wallet) and sewn together end to end. Here's a link to the elastic I used. Dritz 1/2" Braided Elastic, Black: https://www.amazon.com/Dritz-Braided-Elastic-Hank-Black/dp/B00G57HSDY?ref_=ast_sto_dp To assemble the wallet place the two bottom pieces back to back with the groves and pegs facing outwards. Makes sure the thumb grove is aligned on both pieces. take the elastic loop you made and stretch it around the pieces, making sure its completely seated in the grove on both sides. Then apply super glue on one side of the bottom piece, being careful not to get any glue on the elastic band or where the elastic will touch the middle piece. The elastic should move freely in the grove once fully assembled. Click the middle piece on and hold firmly for a few minutes. Be sure the elastic still can slide, then repeat on the other side. The same procedure can be used for the application of the top piece to the middle, with the recommendation that the glue be applied to the bottom of the top pieces, as to not get any glue on where the hexagonal cutouts will be. If any of this is confusing please comment and I will be happy to address any questions or record and post a video of the assembly process. If you are having tolerance problems with the middle and top plates fitting onto the pegs, take your support cutters, close them and stick the closed tip in the hole you wish to make wider. twist the cutters and shave down a small bit of plastic (be careful not to shave too much), then repeat on the other side of the hole.
