tire-press for beadlock rims

tire-press for beadlock rims

Description

This tire-press can be used for mounting tires onto RC beadlock-style rims. It is suitable for up to 1.9"-rims and 4.75" tires (if not silly wide). It helps to keep the tire with internal foam compressed, while fitting the outer beadlock components. So even more useful the wider the tire is, compared to the rim. You'll need: Upper/lower plate printed from PLA, 4x screw M10x80 acc. to ISO10642; 4x M10 Nut with 17mm hex drive (acc. to DIN934) How you do it: Fit the inner beadlock ring into the foam (which is already in the tire); place tire into press as centered as possible; assemble the press with screws and nuts; compress the tire by turning the screws (until foam barely visible between inner beadlock ring and rubber when you lift the side-walls); Lift the tire side-walls and push the foam behind the inner beadlock ring with a flat non sharp tool; Fit the outer rim components, so that the tire wall will be dragged in just a little bit more than finally expected, and screw them together, but do not tighten them up completely. Do small steps for an equal load distribuation, otherwise tire side-wall could be pushed out again; Release the press by turning the screws back in small steps; Remove the press (tire might be still looking compressed because of sealed vacuum inside!); Open the outer rim components for just the right amount, so that the side wall may be pulled out easily bit by bit until it is in the final spot all around; While doing so, the tire should release the vacuum throu a leak and get back to the normal shape (rims do not have to have ventilation hole if done so); Tighten outer rim components together. Done. Example of rims and tires shown: BoomRacing 1.9 Terra Classic 8-Hole, Axial Nitto Trail Grapplers (4.74x1.7x1.9") with foams (AX143010) Hope you like it. Best regards from Bernd's Custom 3D's
