LGA 1700 Alder Lake ILM Spacer (vs. washer method)
Description
The new Alder Lake motherboards have been reported to apply too much pressure via the LGA 1700 Integrated Loading Mechanism (ILM). This results in applying pressure in an uneven manner, potentially warping your CPU die and leading to additional heat. The current suggestion is using 4 M4x1.0mm washers to create a 1mm gap between the ILM and your motherboard to relieve pressure; see the article below https://www.extremetech.com/computing/330543-overclocker-lowers-alder-lake-temps-by-5c-with-rubber-washers This 3D model replaces the need for washers entirely and provides a cleaner, more stable 1mm gap between your ILM and Motherboard. I designed the model based on my Z690 Aorus Elite AX motherboard dimensions; however, I am quite positive that the ILM is identical for all LGA 1700 boards, and I made the screw openings a bit larger than necessary to account for any slight differences. In my mind, the worst-case scenario is that it doesn't fit your screw mountings; since it's a fixed 1mm height, I can't see that this would cause 'harm', however, that being said, still, USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. It does require a little skill and patience to remove the ILM and avoid touching the CPU pins once exposed, I take no liability for damages.
